Default Useful wind energy links

This thread is for you guys to post links to useful resources concerning wind energy. Try and make them as impartial as you can and fact based rather than news stories.

"Impartial wind enery link" is nearly an oxymoron. The debate is regrettably pretty much polarised it seems to me.

But I'll see what I can do. Rest assured it won't be a link to the BWEA site. lol

Seven - Clear Skies relates to all renewables and is a good initiative I think. I'm currently in the process of getting a grant for a heat pump for instance. In fact if the level of funds directed at the iniquitous Renewables Obligation was directed instead at initiatives like this the world would be a better and more honest place.

For those of you in the UK, the DTI has a searchable wind speed database showing the average wind speed for your grid reference.
They also link to a location converter, so as long as you know your postcode you can find your grid reference.

Wind speed database

Speeds are given for 10, 24 and 45 metres above ground level. In my case, it's 6.1, 7.1 and 7.8 metres/sec respectively.
