I took the figures from the link quoted by
prashamk. I read wind and assumed the 120,000 MW of power referred mainly to wind, hence my 40,000 MW (not MWh) based on around a 30% capacity factor.
Of course, my assumption was flawed. Not all renewable will come from wind.
As
include noted, there is the Three Gorges hydro project which, when fully operational, would account for 22,500 MW of the 120,000 MW capacity. No doubt there are others.
