How can it work for you Mellow? its all broke up in little bits, I saw it smash up with my very own eyes. I squirted in the WD40 like you tol me too and then it just went crazy.I think its a commie plot to take over the earth.

I was going to say, I thought turbines stopped working when the wind was really strong. I guess like you say, this break thing stopped working.

yes, the safety system would have stopped the machine around 20/25 m/s or something like that.

How long ago was the film made? I know they had quite a few problems in the past, but I thought most of them had been overcome since.

Do you know if the turbine was still within its waranty? (i.e. it was a faulty turbine) or were the components reaching the end of their design lifetime?

It does illustrate the importance of topple distance allowances between the site of the turbine and things like public highways and power cables as well as the need for regular monitoring and maintanence.
