Default Wooly Mammoth's DNA Mapped

As if taken right from the pages of a certain Michael Chriton novel. Scientists have mapped the ancient creatures DNA.

DNA of Ice Age's Most Famous Creature Mapped

Now we just have to see what science chooses to do with this ethically. Personally I don't think it would be fair to bring a creature not fit for our current environment back into existence. What are your thoughts?

Thumbs up

I think they should be brought back, and released into their previous habitats such as Alaska. Then all the unemployed politicians can hunt them from their helicopters

Well I guess their extinction was largely down to us so we owe it to the species to bring them back. $10 million doesn't seem like much to bring a whole species back from the dead.

Don't know a whole lot about them to be honest mate. Where did they live before? A pretty cold place I guess, but we have plenty of those on earth. Not sure Russia would like a whole bunch of mammoths in their country though How about your place August? You fancy some woolly friends?

Cool, we'll resurrect the beast just in time for it to be wiped out by global warming again

Neanderthals are people. They may not be modern humans but they are people. Until you can guarantee that the process is perfect enough for people, then no.

What would be in the point in bringing Neanderthal man back when you've only just got rid of him as your President?
