That's strange. Polar bears survived other warm spikes in Earth's past, warmer than where we are and where we're going, so why would they die out now?

It's not the change in temperature that will push them to extinction. The change in temp indirectly affects them by a change in habitat, eg. sea ice, which is what they use to catch their food.
