Default Species survival

What would you say is the biggest threat to species survival?

Is it the destruction of habitats? Or is it perhaps advances in technology that make habitat destruction 'easier'? Or is it something else?

I think habitat destruction due to humans not getting their heads around the fact that they are PART of the ecosystems around them, not higher than them or lower and thus they need to select appropriate practices for the location. eg. not over grazing the highland areas of the UK and undergrazing the lowland ones. It's isn't even so much about over population of livestock, it's a distribution issue.
