Reason for this post:
It's my day off, so I go to the beach to relax.
Why can I not relax with such confusion going on with Florida's East Coast.
As of May 1st our stretch of the beach is in Marine Turtle Nesting Season, so why is their a major Dredge of the Jupiter Inlet for Beach Re-nourishment?
Is it the fact that FEMA would have to bail out silly Oceanfront Property Investors for thier mis-judgment of Oceans Fury?
The Endangered Species Act and DEP conclude that:
No operation or storage of equipment or materials is authorized seaward of dune crest or rigid coastal structure during the marine turtle nesting season. The marine turtle-nesting season is May 1 through October 31. Leatherback nesting season is March 1 through October 31.
Will Marine Turtles nest in Inlet Substrate? Will Marine Turtles nest at all in this fragile area?
