If you want your money to be well-spent, there are plenty of better things to do with it. I've read a bit on what to look for before you donate to a supposed environmental organization, and here's what I see that's wrong with that website.
1. It seems to be run by a single person.
That means it's more likely that this guy is just in it for profit, as there is no one else ensuring the money is sent to the right places.
2. There is not enough information on the website.
The website constantly uses general phrases such as the following:
"The proceeds of this website will go to organizations that work to increase populations of endangered species around the world."
Which organizations exactly are these? And why shouldn't we just donate to those organizations in the first place, and not use a middle man.
"All donations large and small will be greatly appreciated and will help my company help the endangered species of our planet."
Exactly what ways are the planning to help endangered species? For all I know, he could have an animal on the endangered species list and is planning on using the donations to feed it or something. There needs to be a better explanation of the projects they are working on, and what exactly the money is used for.
"Part of your donation will go toward the preservation of environments crucial to the survival of endangered species, and also toward the more individual programs that deal with specific species."
Which environments are being preserved, and what individual programs are we talking about?
If you scroll down on the bottom of the website it says:
"The company's to which we will send proceeds until we are large enough to fund projects of our own are: World Wildlife Fund, Endangered Species Coalition, and Defenders of Wildlife."
Why would you trust some company to send your money to other organizations, when you could donate to them yourself? It seems obvious they're trying to make a profit.
