No floods yet *fingers crossed* I might do Glastonbury next year if I'm not going to be stranded in another city due to flooding.

I live in GA and this time last year we were really bad off, but we are doing better. The lake near me is full, but Lake Lanier on the other side of Atlanta is still very low.

Indeed, its a year since the floods hit Yorkshire, and there are still people living in caravans on their front gardens in Hull. Thankfully no flooding this year around here.

Although a downpour on the 22nd June in the Dales nearly got my car stranded in a small flood while we were on holiday.

Still having the flood damage repaired. Either that or gypsies have started to camp in people's front gardens.

I'm soooo happy that I don't live anywhere where there's floods... It's been raining a lot lately and some areas are starting to be in trouble because of that, but luckily there are no rivers around here, just lakes.

But you are missing out on soo much fun and excitement. Radio Sheffield spent a whole morning trying to find people that could temporarily home some horses in a field that needed to be evacuated incase a dam burst.

Our local BBC news was also great. There were loads of folks going 'ah well **** happenes, at least were safe and sound at the moment' but hte news people wanted some more emotion, the best they could get was someone being forced to say that their pet bird might not survive. (No rescue attempts to get into the house to check if the bird was ok, or bring it and it's food to the owner though).

It's not very nice for people that have had insurance issues and the like, but it's no where near as bad as stuff like the Tsunami.

Didn't think about the amusing parts of it at all. Hmm... Maybe I'd like a few floods around here after all...

You have to learn to see the funny side. It helps prevent wrist slitting and raises moral in times of crisis.

That's actually one of my problems - I often see only the funny sides of things. But that way it's just more fun.
