Default Water worries

Think Global and Act Local
Yesterday I addressed the "locals" at a Harvest Fest and discussed the water challenges and differences that we (local Floridians) will face vs. global water issues and challenges.
They appreciated the contrast.
Here's a photo of Florida 2025, if global changes are not made.

You don't know that. There is neither science nor evidence that exists that says this will happen, only computer simulations of what might happen in certain extreme circumstances.

You are correct, however this slide was shown to quite a large crowd of scientists and govt. officials at the 2007 Alter. Energy Summit, it is a slide of what may happen with a 3 meter mean tide sea level rise.
It worries me.
The topic is "water worries", not science digest.

Ah I see, my bad! I think we can expect less than 3m if it's any help. You're probably more likely to see 40cm. Assuming recent cooling trends do not continue.

How many water desalination plants are there in Florida?
One hundred?
More?
+
Quote:
The largest seawater desalination facility in the United States, it is intended to produce an initial 95,000m3 of water per day, with a future planned expansion to increase this by a further 37,000m3/day to help reduce the growing demand on the area's aquifers.
