Default Useful recycling links

This thread is for you guys to post links to useful resources concerning recycling. Try and make them as impartial as you can and fact based rather than news stories. And please don't put your own sites here. Leave it for other people to judge your own work

Ohh, I can name a few. Here it goes:

www.recyclenow.com - National Recycling Awareness Campaign. Lots of tips etc on here.

www.recycle-more.co.uk - Similar to above, plus a bank locator to find out where your nearest recycling points are

www.glassforever.co.uk - For kids really (although some of the games are cool!) to learn more about glass recycling

www.recyclezone.org.uk - Again aimed more at kids, but it is bright and informational.

www.wasteconnect.co.uk - Another database to find our your local recycling places.

www.recycledproducts.org.uk - A database of recycled products in the UK

www.virtualhouse.org - This is fun!

Oh and us too

As someone who works in industry, we are always on the look out for ways of increasing recycling rates. Some ideas we have used (or looked at):

http://www.aerosolv.com - An aerosol puncturing kit. If you use a lot of aerosols at work, this gadget will puncture them, and the propellants/product will go into a drum, and the gases will pass through a filter. Dead simple idea, and turns a hazardous waste into something that can be sold for scrap! The US Navy use apparently, but don't let that put you off

Chimb Seperator. Chimbs are the metal rims on cardboard kegs. If your work handles loads of cardboard pr fibre kegs, this device will remove the rims so you can send them for scrap, and the cardboard for recycling. (From Bryden Engineering in Leeds). Product is not on their website!

A company that sells environmental technology from around the world:
http://www.wastenil.co.uk/index.htm - The guy that runs this has travelled the world to find good techonology to improve environmental performance, and he sells them on from one place.
