I guess it doesn't help your cause that many people are going digital nowadays either.

I'd not thought of photo booths - and I'm not sure whether can really claim to be a "good cause" - but I'll give it a try next time I'm passing one.

I know someone who's the secretary of the local photographic society, and used to use loads of film (despising digital). But even she has converted now and her remaining stock of film containers, she guards jealously - she uses them for a wide range of things - measured quantities of food for small mammal survey traps being a recent one.

I wonder if the companies that used to make them for film now sell them for other stuff?

The cardboard tubes from loo-rolls are good for seedlings too, particularly trees and other largish ones, and can be planted straight out.
I like the cardboard tubes Idea Natterjack. Thanks.

As for the film cases, another option may be pill bottles.

Another good re-use item is the jam jar. I have the lids screwed to the underside of my shelves in the shed and fill the jars with screws, tacks and nails. Very useful and helps by giving a bit of order to the shed.

Default Donate your empty printer cartridges to charity

Empty printer cartridges can normally be re-used more than once. And the best thing about it is you can donate them to charity to help raise funds.

You can recycle newspaper by making pots for seedlings - you have to get a simple kit from something like THE ORGANIC GARDENING CATALOGUE.
