I always donate old magazines or journals to hospitals, clinics, or libraries.

Use Ebay or car boot sales to sell off your unwanted things.

Use canvas or cloth bags when shopping so you don’t have to make the choice between “paper or plastic."

Re-use empty plastic containers from takeaways as useful storage containers forever and a day. It's more hassle in many parts of Britain to transport them somewhere for recycling, so re-use them.

They stack neatly in or on a cupboard when not in use in any case!

Inspired by the recycle a cup campaign:

Keep a mug in your office instead of using paper cups.

Save reusable items for art projects and hobbies, or donate them to schools, hospitals and daycare centres.

Connect our downspout to capture rainwater in a cistern or barrel, then use the water for lawns and gardens, washing the car, and other outdoor projects.

Borrow or hire equipment instead of buying new.
