Default One Million Beer Bottles Recycled into a Buddhist Temple

Over one million recycled beer bottles have been used in the construction of a Buddhist temple, by Thai monks in the Sisket province, northeast of Bangkok in the city of Khun Han close to the Cambodian border. They used Heineken bottles (green) and Chang Beer bottles (brown), helping to clean up the local pollution...

That sounds great. I remember seeing a bottle house in Queenstown, New Zealand a couple of decades ago. That article wouldn't load, I'll try again later.

I don't think the bottles were from beer they had consumed themselves, but was meant as a way of reusing or recycling the waste from surrounding areas. Of course, there are measures in place for recycling glass bottles in many countries, but I am not sure of the situation of that in Thailand...

Buddhism is a practical religion for moderates.

Using glass bottles as building material is a great recycling idea.
