Default Meet Dave, the Man Who Never Takes Out the Trash

David Chameides is not your average American. For one thing, the TV cameraman owns two Emmy awards — how many do you have? But more importantly, while the average American throws out around 1,700 lbs. of trash annually, for the past year Chameides has thrown out absolutely nothing.

Meet Dave, the Man Who Never Takes Out the Trash - TIME

Nice story

Best quote ever: "I'm a pretty normal guy — I just keep my garbage in my basement."

That's excellent. An inspiration. I wonder what his neighbours think - is he inspiring them or is he the nutter with the trash in his basement?!

I imagine this excercise really gets you thinking about consumption and what purchases are likely to produce the most/least waste.

That's nothing compared to this though:

That's a disgrace, Richard. That place looks like it hasn't seen a duster for a whole week! Tsk...

I just noticed. One of the funny things about that series of shots is the 4th picture up from the end.

See the ironing board (seemingly still in use) and the pile of clothes at one end?

This is obviously someone who takes pride in his/her appearance.
