The European Space Agency has just released images showing all the satellites and human-made debris now orbiting space as a result of 51 years of launching stuff to space since Sputnik launched in 1957.
This could very well be the onset of Kessler Syndrome; where the lower Earth orbit becomes so crowded with junk, that it becomes impossible to launch anything into space without a significant risk of impact by debris. Scary stuff.
