Default Light bulbs

Is there a better way to dispose of light bulbs?

Or is landfill the only option?

I once saw a magician eat some, wonder if he is still available?

Serious note ,many of the folks in the thankless job of waste disposal [not the profiteers, the council guys] are coming to a consensus that much of our glass including light bulbs should be crushed and screen and used ,as near as possible to the collection site, as road fill.I do recall ,but have no linkie, an item regarding the use of a mix of old tires and crushed glass as a road surface which was ,for some reason, quieter than tarmac.

I was in a small hotel in Mexico a few years ago and they cut off the metal base of the bulbs, fastened a wire around the end and hung them on the wall filled with water and han plantsin them.

Mr Hargreaves warned the service was only for residents and commercial operators would still have to dispose of fluorescent bulbs themselves.
*sigh*

Why exclude businesses from recycling?
