Default Recycling inkjet cartridges

Hi all,

I wanted to introduce myself and let you know about how to recycle your inkjet printer cartridges.

Planet Green, the company I work for, pays people to recycle inkjet cartridges (and, if you're in the Los Angeles area, toner/laser cartridges too). I know the UK has some companies too that do this. Feel free to post that info below if you have it.

I think inkjet cartridge recycling is a really important part of prolonging the life-cycle of a cartridge (it's life-cycle is very short). Of course, OEM cartridge manufacturers hate the fact that these cartridges can be remanufactured (Planet Green is a remanufacturer). HP has begun a huge push to take back all cartridges (for free of course) - to then melt them down and turn them into "new" cartridges. The potential waste of energy there is mind-boggling. All Planet Green does is clean the cartridge and re-fill it.

Does anyone here buy remanufactured cartridges? What do you think about them? I know they used to have a bad reputation but now I think people's budget-crunches are making them buy low-cost remans...

Hi, thanks again for your response. I appreciate the questions. No, I wouldn't say our product is crap, and we're not even asking anyone to buy it (we only do wholesale for now). But, if people want to recycle their empty inkjet cartridges, rather than throw them in the trash, then I'd say we're a good option.
