Solar Energy Forum I have no doubt that we will be successful in harnessing the sun's energy.... If sunbeams were weapons of war, we would have had solar energy centuries ago. ~Sir George Porter

Default 3KW solar panel (3ft x 5ft)

I brought up this topic awhile back and the company now has pictures of these "revolutionary" panels on their website. The last picture shows a panel producing 3.1KW of power. Hmmm.....

I'm not an electronics engineer, so won't go into how or why their claims may or may not hold up to scrutiny.

As someone who specifies PV panels (among other technologies) for integration into buildings, I would like to see more data on the actual performance of dbksolar's revolutionary product.

We're asked all the time for names of products or suppliers that can provide reliable and productive renenwable energy systems. The PV industry is moving quickly, with the target cost of $1 a Watt still driving the technological developments.

Pretty pictures of polycrystalline PV won't sell this product; only hard data that proves their efficiency or output can inform commercial decisions by my clients.

Personally I'd enjoy finding that dbk have really made a significant breakthrough, but I'm not convinced yet. I doubt we'll see more than a prototype for many months if their new technology further inflates the array cost above the already high price of photovoltaics. It's not all about price, but takeup will be painfully slow if the cost doesn't justify the performance over a number of years!

Default dbk

3'x5'--3,100 watts? That is more than the sun puts out in that area at one time. Kilowatt HOURS in a day would be more believable.
They never answered email or phone message inquiries from me. They want middlemen dealers which could be a scam.
Thin film tech has not proven to last long in the tech reports I've read.

Just to let you know, I have e-mailed this company again and they remain adamant about the legitimacy of these panels. According to our latest conversation, expect much more information in September.

They do have a toll-free telephone number. It would be interesting if more of us made contact with them (DBK Solar).

Default dbk solar panels

I sent dbk my $4000 and then asked for my money back. The president Darry L Boyd Sr. put in writing that I would have my money back in 10-12 days. That was 4 months ago. They will not return my money and I know that they do not have any solar panels that work

You only have to look at the web site the see it looks a bit odd. I mean it just looks like a "pie in the sky" shoddy operation. You are better of buying from a major supplier / manufacturer / brand, like Sharp or Kyocera, BP, Phillips, etc...

Default Solar Power at home with No upfront investment.

I am realitively new to solar, but I do know enough to realize that the primary reasons people don't switch to solar is the upfront costs, ongoing maintenance and delay of the return on your investment.

Recently I found a company called Citizenre that will install solar on your home, maintain it and rent it to you for no upfront costs.. The rent is calculated based on the current electric utility rate in your area..

I have asked around about the technical specs and have found that the panels are 3'x5' and have a built in invertor into each panel. This makes the system easily adjustable.

It is my opinion that this idea will truely revolutionize the way solar power is implemented.. If you want to get more of the story check out this website.

Citizenre has also developed an excellent marketing plan that utilizes a network marketing model, but has rasied the bar. The company provides excellent industry training and requires testing to advance. You owe it to yourself to learn more about it, check out. *advert removed*

Just be sure the quality of the product you are being sold is of a high standard and as I suggested, a well known brand name. The rental idea though does sound interesting.
