Solar Power and Desalination at Port Augusta.

Imagine a shimmering field of mirrors generating solar energy and fresh drinking water for a city of 15,000. That's the vision water and power project developer Acquasol Infrastructure Ltd has for Port Augusta, South Australia. The project will both help reduce South Australia's greenhouse gas emissions and save the state millions of dollars each year in water subsidies for the Upper Spencer Gulf.

It's a shame they're not doing that for the desal plant on the Gold Coast. Instead we get a lovely 110,000 volt overhead power line to beautify our neighbourhoods! .
