Interesting. I think prices for solar will come down when the industry becomes like a commodity. I was reading about the same thing happening in the IT industry, where companies basically go beyond what customers really need in terms of power and features, so it opens up the market for companies to start offering less powerful products at a cheaper price. This then forces the industry to compete largely on price, ala Dell.

there are already many DIY solutions to power your home with renewable energy. Increasing offer will helpto cut market price, but already you can find cheap solutions.
