Market Penetration Aspects of Solar Energy

I thought I would devote this thread to looking at the aspects relating to market place penetration of Solar Energy technologies of varying forms. The market place combined with government policies, form a very powerful force in influencing the development and implementation of solar energy technologies.

Rather than focusing on the technical aspects, for a change I thought that a thread that mainly focuses on the market considerations, might offer an interesting branch of discussion. Hence this thread. Thus feel free to post articles that predominantly relate to the market place of Solar Energy and aspects relating to costs for both domestic and commercial scale applications, their contribution to electricty demand, forward growth projections etc...

We know that Solar Energy comes in many forms and each has its own market niche and are at various stages of development and market penetration. The global growth for solar PV was belived to be over 30% in 2007 and is projected to remain strong.
