This need to "do something" or"sign a petition" always puzzles me,why not get on with what you want to do and see if the idea catches on? I recycle,I use solar power,I drive a clean and efficient and safe car [not some green gimmick] I only use what I have to but I am most definitely not going door to door to hector my neighbours into joining a bloomin crusade.For example,I have a 2 hectare restoration project going on.So what ? Big deal,many others have done the same and done it before me.I have had folks drop by who have noticed what I have going on while they were passing and they wanted to share what they were doing.There are thousands of people doing their best to live without wrecking the planet,they just don't belong to internet forums so you prolly will never get to hear about them.

I am glad you are doing something positive but it is "Global" Warming. Meaning, it is a "Global" problem.
Why don't you think some form of communication, like a petition, is necessary?
If a certain petition fails to be read in the highest of high offices but plays a non-insignificant role in the forming of more ideas towards attacking this problem from the average man/woman I will consider myself a heroe!
