The Overpopulation is threatening our planet. !!!!!
The Overpopulation is threatening our planet.
Our world is fast descending into chaos. The main protagonists are human beings who keep on breeding at an astronomical rate without a thought for the consequences. It was not for nothing that our great grand-parents made up the following saying :
“The more people there are, the greater the problems.”
The recent unusual occurrences around the world like natural catastrophes, terrible floods, dreadful hurricanes, heart wrenching forest fires, new strains of mental and physical illnesses, never-ending disputes, endless discontentment, lowering of moral values, increasing unemployment, social expansion, increased consumption of cigarettes and alcohol and drug dependency have all played their part, until people hardly know what they’re doing. For example : Satanism, child pornography and child abuse are the first signs of moral decay. The newspapers and televisions are full of news like this on a daily basis. Just as the Turkish saying goes : “For sensitive people, the buzz of the mosquito sounds alerting. Insensitive people, however, cannot even hear a loud drum banging.” That is to say : ignorant people cannot see things even when they are staring them in the face. We are ignoring these first warning signs. Earth shattering catastrophes are already happening which are leaving people stunned in amazement. But simply being amazed will not make the problems go away, they will have to suffer the conse-quences too.

Human stupidity, not overpopulation, threatens the planet.
And most of that stupidity stems from politics. Get the politicians under control, and something can be done.
According to the United Nations, world population growth rate is dropping rapidly. Total population will grow to about 9 billion, and then will start dropping. Already, in developed nations, where many of the problems exist, population is falling. Countries like Japan and Italy are trying to persuade women to have more kids, since they see their population base dropping.
No, population is not the problem. Just idiot politicians.

I am having a hard time with your logic. How are stupid politicians threatening the planet? Please provide some specifics.

I live in Texas where Bush is loved by most, including me. He understands 2.5 of the 3-legged stool that is American conservatism:
1. strong and aggressive military
2. limited government (he only understands half of this because he did little to restrain spending, but he got got the tax reduction part right)
3. social conservatism
American conservatism has no analogous political movement in much of the world. Most of the rest of the world is mired in the inefficiencies of collectivism, which is why the US dominates the planet.

That warmongering moron called Bush junior is a prime example. Attacking a country on the pretext of weapons of mass destruction, even though such weapons never existed, and he knew damn well that such weapons never existed. Human toll to date : over a million Iraqis dead.
European politicians signed the Kyoto protocol, and then set out to APPEAR to conform to it. They import palm oil from Indonesia as biofuel, to replace diesel, even thougn it is common knowledge that the palm oil plantations are established by destroying tropical rain forest.
African politicians accept bribes from poachers of elephant ivory, permitting that magnificent animal to be decimated.
Japanese politicians keep the uneconomical whaling industry going, buying up the entire whaling fleet after the private operators discover they cannot make money out of killing whales. The politicians keep it going, killing lots of whales and adding to the mountains of frozen and unsaleable whale meat.
Need I go on?

Hello Eco warrior
The main problem is overpopulation. I see this as a sociologist.Yes In Europe the overpopulation is stopped. What about the other countries like India like Africa? The people there are breeding at an astronomical rate without a thought for the consequences. All I say is science not dogma.

To akintekin
India is not the best example. The fastest population growth is in certain African countries. I suggest you check the data on the United Nations web site.
United Nations Population Information Network (POPIN)
Their demographers have predicted various scenarios, of which the median one is population growth reaching a plateau of about 9 billion globally.
Even though some nations are still growing their populations rapidly, third world growth rates are slowing. From 5.5 children per woman some 50 years ago to under 2.5 today. The growth rate continues to fall.
