Young And Stupid
I know we have all done things we have regreted later....this one I did when I was very young....for whatever reason, I took my Mom's old Aqua Net Hairspray can and spayed some outside.....I feel like I contributed to hurting the ozone layer.....I feel guitly, can someone put my mind to ease that the little bit I sprayed didn't have any affect on the environment?
thank you

It's because of people like you that the environment is in such as state. You probably caused the death of many fluffy kittens. I hope you feel ashamed of yourself.

Richard's already done the funny, so I'll say just from your guilt you have learn't to question your actions which will end up saving the environment to a far greater affect than if you didn't spray it and continued on with life.
People have to realise their actions can save many times more than their life time will use, they just need to think "outside the square".
Before the late 80's it was probably CFC's, after, then it was HFC's, which contribute to the greenhouse effect instead.

Ok?
Just for the record, I am very environmentally conscious and like the post said, "Young and Stupid," and I guess the answer that I'm looking for is did my little bit of stupidity do any harm?

Keeping it Going
also, I have definitely learned from my actions and I am totally in-tune with helping our environment....I didn't need smart a** comments by Richard...that does not help or make me feel better.

Richard was correct, you have caused untold damage. Why ,I dread to think of the number of African children and little bunnies who have perished as a result of this chemical warfare which you unleashed.

Well, the hairspray would have been used anyway, so it makes little difference who sprayed what from that single can, and where...
In any case, it is the typical rebelliousness of the young - they are now being told from an early age that pollution is wrong and inherently evil, so its not surprising if that would make the occasional anti-green action fun and attractive - the very thought that one small action of a child kills polar bears, destroys the livelihood of fishermen and pulls the Earth's orbit a bit closer to the sun, must be a very tempting way to defy the authorities and assert independence. After all, are Al Gore and Paul McCartney exactly cool to the rebellious youth? The only geriatrics that may appeal to them are the ones with the highest carbon footprint, like Keith Richards (may be they can use this idea to resurrect their career).

Well now Dursty, having consulted the Big Book of Sins Against the Planet,I find that your little episode does not even register. What you did could not have caused any harm whatsoever and you are in the clear. So all you have to do now is be aware that airsprays and such items are not really needed and we can live without them. And don't you go beating yourself up over little things, looking after your environment is a nice thing to do,not a punishment.

How do you know whether this is a young "man" or not? I don't see anything in the name or profile of this user that suggests one or the other. Or did I miss something?
Anyway they say that confession is "good for the soul" or something along those lines, so even though the sin against the environment is minimal, I genuinely hope that sharing this with our community has helped, and you will remain (as you put it) "very environmentally conscious and like".
