Default Useful organic links

This thread is for you guys to post links to useful resources concerning organic issues. Try and make them as impartial as you can and fact based rather than news stories.

Here's a great website that allows you to find farmers' markets, family farms, and other sources of sustainably grown food in your area, where you can buy produce, grass-fed meats, and many other goodies:

Don't know if it's allowed to tout a product here, but I buy Nature's Path Envirokidz organic cereals, (especially Gorilla Munch) and one percent of their sales are donated to endangered species, habitat conservation, etc. There's also a form inside each box that would allow you to "adopt" an endangered animal. For instance, on the Gorilla Munch, I can adopt a silverback Gorilla for $50. On their website, your kids can go to find out fun facts about endangered species, hear the sounds some make, print out coloring pages...I just thought it was kind of neat. I know one percent isn't much, but its more than a lot of organic companies do.

That is a nice bit of greenwash on the company's part but I don't think that I would call most breakfast cereals "organic". I mean they are highly processed foods. Maybe porridge or home made muesli with some organic full fat milk would be ok.

I have not checked all the links given on these website personally. They have a number of product links as well.

Canadian Organic Growers, however, has a list of some informative sources

Good site...

The parents get blamed for any poor eating habits children aquire, but the schools here are filled with "junk" food machines, and the kids carb up good...
