The new Luc Besson film- Banlieue 13. I ripped it off the net weeks ago and just got round to watching it and its staggeringly good! Its subtitled but the freerunning in it and Ninja stuff make Jackie Chan look like mickey mouse.

The last film I saw at the cinema was the latest Pirates of the Carribean - very silly and funny. 'tho I seemed to be the only one laughing on occassion

I'm currently watching the season of studio Ghibli (Japanese animation) on Film Four too. They're fantastic, beautiful, magical and surreal - just like me

Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.

I watched it on television the other day. I personally think it's the best of all Monty Python movies.

I watched Crank at the cinema on Friday. On balance worth watching - just - I think... The story-line's negligible, but I liked the effects they used - like text that appeared at the bottom of the screen. And the ending. It was very centred around violence as a way of life, which made me uncomfortable, but there were a few bits to make you think - I like that in a film.

Also saw The Constant Gardener on DVD - it has Ralph Fiennes in it, which is enough of a recommendation in my view. Gripping storyline too though (I need to watch it again to understand the end) and a powerful film. I'm a little concerned though about the way it handled an important issue (provision of AIDS drugs in Africa) and mixed it up with an emotional storyline... I did feel a little like I'd been emotionally blackmailed at the end but still thought it was a good film.

I have seen bits of Bugs Life recently. Not sat down and watched it all the way through, though... that would require my son to not play with the buttons on the TV or DVD player for a full hour and a half.

Sleepless In Seattle. (Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, an unknown male actor (gets dumped by Ryan: a bad career move) and a couple of half-funny children actors: very daft but OK: strange storyline: deja vu's and the occasional ghastly incedent: funny moments: quite relaxing). - Watched it on T.V. of course.
