Hey, the old phpBB forum did have a chat room in it and it's something that I've been meaning to add to this forum for a while. I believe there are hacks available but I'll have to look into it. I'm busy at work this week but am planning to do a few upgrades at the weekend so I'll have a look then.

hey, I have been looking around at geocities and invisionfree, and have seen the possibility of a free chatroom. I think it would be immensely useful to have a space for all us environment buffs to come together and just have conversations. As nice as this already is on a forum, it can take a while for everyone to exchange ideas. I was thinking about making an environmental based chatroom, but realized very quickly that you need a basis in html coding, and similar "stuff", stuff that I don't know. Just putting it out there, though I realize you are probably busy enough keeping this place in order

I was wondering if you could start a section on the forums addressing the Gaia theory (which is now widely accepted by scientists worldwide) Just a suggestion, and i do happen to know a local expert on it... and i have a read a few of the james lovelock books. They are absolutely fascinating. You should take a look at them
