Default Just Wanted to say Hi from New Mexico

I have been looking for a forum like this for a longtime. Here in New Mexico we get on the average in this part of the state anyway about 7 inches of rain annually. So I look forward to learning more about water reclamation, xeriscape, I am a rock hound, who can love rocks? Well I do, maybe it's something in the water. Glad to be here.

Hello New Mexico, and welcome to the forum Darwin

Here is one way to not conserve water--

Considering the low rainfall, where does your water come from, aquifers?

Karl,
Yes, the aquifer is it and they say it will be gone in less than 100 years, thats if the Albuquerque area doesn't grow. They are working on the San Juan project which will bring more water to the Rio Grande River and Valley, but it won't help a lot. They are using gray water for golf courses and city park watering, but that is being overused and abused and not enough of it. Sucks really.
I remeber in the 60's they built this huge interstate system, too bad they didn't build a little water way right in the middle, to help out the flooding in the midwest and help out the west. And now of course we are broke here in the US
