hi krissythe bike, tell us about the big concerns from the Phillipines. There are a lot of good ideas bounced around here, you can find many in the stickies at the top of each forum and of course in the threads. Wander around for a bit and let us know what you think.

Default hello and thanks

hello! thank you spadlet and hoon for welcoming me here

screener:
thanks for welcoming me too. there are a lot of concerns here in the philippines especially with using plastic bags, since we are a developing country, we often use plastic bags in groceries instead of paper bag because its cheaper. aside from that, when i used to live in the high mountains of San Mateo (a town near manila), We have a overlooking view from the top of the mountain to the manila area. i noticed that every morning, there's a foggy-like above the city, but as i looked at it closer, its not a fog, but smoke because its colored grey. i cant believe that im breathing that smoke everyday.

there are a lot of things to improve here, here they are:
1. the govt doesnt took too much attention with vehicle emission centers.
2. biking is not safe in the streets because of lack of "biking lanes"
3. so many industries here are the main source of air-pollution as well as problem with waste disposal.
4. community seldom practice segregation of garbage

there are a lot more issues here, but as of now, these are the main issues that should be resolve here.

thanks for having the time to read my thread.

have a blessed day to everyone!

That used to be the case where I live when I was growing up. As a teenager I always wanted to learn to cycle on the roads but was too scared because of all of the traffic etc. Some people were brave and made the effort.

These days cycle lanes are popping up all over the place and it gives people the courage to the little stretches on the propper road that are required. How easy do oyu think it owuld be to get sone cycle lanes where you live? Maybe you could start with getting some wide paths in parks/countryside changed so that they are part cycle lane and part foot path? I hitnk that's how alot of our cycle paths started out.

We in Australia have a good ole laugh since about a third of us has been to Bali (in Indonesia, which is beside the Phillipines) and normally you can see a whole family of five on a Vesper like scooter. No road rules either. In Australia the average vehicle is usually a 4L six cylinder 1.8 tonne car, even though people are starting to downsize now.
