I've briefly researched what in powerbars are bad for you and it is okay but just don't eat too many. a better alternative is Clif bars as they are more natural than powerbars.

Power bars are crap. You are much better served in making your own at home. Search the internet, there are tons of recepies out there and that way you can be sure what you put in it.

From Powerbar USA site

Do POWERBAR products contain Genetically Modified Ingredients?

POWERBAR uses ingredients that meet our high quality standards and are in full compliance with U.S. government regulations.

Genetically modified (GM) crops grown in the US have been reviewed extensively by the FDA, USDA and EPA, who have determined that GM crops are as safe as their conventional counterparts. Because the use of GM crops does not affect the safety or quality of the ingredients made from them, we do not require that our suppliers specify the origin of the crops they use.

From Powerbar Europe

Re: gmo
Hello Pauli,
also we are not communicating it prominently on our homepage: PowerBar is not using crops which make a gmo declaration necessary. Our quality department makes sure that all raw materials do not fall under the gmo labeling regulation of the EU.

So the answer really depends on where is the Powerbar's market
