The Tesla roadster could be here by October/November apparently.

Tesla Motors' all-electric Roadster sports car will start rolling out to nearly 600 buyers lined up for the $100,000 vehicle by October or November, after a slight delay, the company's chief said on Tuesday.

The 'car' miles of the Tesla are interesting. It's obviously fuel efficient but they are being assembled by Lotus Engineering in England, the electric motors are being manufactured by Tesla in Taiwan, the battery packs are being manufactured in Thailand. A lot of air miles there during construction.

Who's saying we should boycott it? You've mentioned dozens of times that the Hummer is apparently more eco friendly than the Prius cradle to grave, yet you throw your dummy out when I mention this. Jeez, keep your knickers on

The emoticon used was 'roll eyes' not 'angry' - There is a saying you might have heard off; 'Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater'
One the most exiting cars ever to be developed and a huge step forward that both sides of the argument can actually come together on and your still whining - jeez

I wonder how fuel efficient these electric cars actually are. The GWiz is reported to have a tiny fuel consumption, but that is probably largely due to it being small and very slow. The batteries have to recharged by electricity from the grid and much of that energy is produced by coal and gas power stations. There are efficiency losses during generation, transmission and charging up the battery. I suppose if they were recharged at night then more of that electricity would come from nuclear power stations, in this country anyway. I suppose the other thing is electric engines have fewer moving parts and no optimum RPM.

I did a news story on this one. Zero to sixty in under 4 seconds isn't too shabby either. Another good idea would be a "solar windshield sun shade" to trickle charge the batteries whilst sitting in your office at work (provided you park your car in an open lot).
As for Condoleezza Rice...
...HOT!
