California writes EarthRehab on Alternative and Energy Independence; the “Triple it” campaign
Hi William,
California is on the verge of stepping up our use of renewable energy in a major way.
Right now, leaders in Sacramento are meeting to work out a deal that increases our use of clean, renewable energy to 33% by 2020 -- three times what it is now. If adopted, it would be the most aggressive clean energy standard in the country.
As usual, utilities and other powerful interests are standing in the way, trying to stall action. And with so many of our state politicians in a mad scramble to finish a budget, we need to step up our efforts.
Join in our "Triple it!" campaign, and tell your state assembly member to triple our use of clean energy:
We can triple California's use of clean energy - Environment California
I have seen more windmills and solar panels in TV and newspaper ads in the last 6 months than ever before (including, inexplicably, in ads for ExxonMobil). What I really want to see is solar panels soaking up the sun on people's roofs in my neighborhood, and windmills instead of smokestacks all across the state.
Even ExxonMobil can see that public support for clean energy is at an all-time peak. We need to strike while the iron is hot, and get California's top decision makers to make our state, once again, a national clean energy leader.
Right now, California's top decision makers have the potential to more than triple the amount of energy the state's utilities get from clean, renewable energy resources such as solar and wind power.
Over the next few weeks, we'll be asking you to join with our "Triple it!" campaign, and e-mail California's top decision makers in support of moving California to a minimum 33% by 2020 renewable portfolio standard. We are starting with our state assembly members. Please click here to email your local assembly member urging them to make renewable energy a statewide priority.

Sincerely,
