Oh, and I meant to say, marketing people are not my favourite people, to put it politely.
I've seen people on some Aussie forums calling supermarkets stupidmarkets.

I wonder if food waste has gone down as the price has gone up?

That is a good topic. I am sure it would have gone down. Moreover now a days people want to extract every bit of energy even from waste (methane). So even though there may be some wastage, it may not be all that harmful.

I think it depends on where you are, In Canada food was about 9 % of a families budget and a large portion of that was on restaurant meals. The few percentage points it's gone up here won't mean that much to people who can afford to throw away computers, tvs, living room sets, just because they can afford new ones.

Perhaps I'm being pessimistic. may I be proved wrong.
