Oil prices reach another record - surging past $84 a barrel on fears over winter energy supplies.

Ok, this is getting silly now.

Oil prices have remained at record levels above $86 a barrel amid tensions between Turkey and Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq and output concerns.

And still higher she goes. Oil prices hit record levels above $87 a barrel amid tensions in northern Iraq and concerns over output levels.

Is there any oil up there or is this just opportunists taking an unfair profit.Everything seems to send up oil prices.

Oil prices have steadied after six days of record highs - spurred by supply concerns and tensions between Turkey and Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq.

US light, sweet crude was trading at $87.61 a barrel - down from Tuesday's record of $88.20 - while Brent crude was 40 cents lower at $83.15.

Maybe, but I'd be very surprised if there was an attack. The price eased a little yesterday after a US report shows larger-than-expected fuel stocks.

Now the question, why hasn't gasoline gone up in price?

Or perhaps the oil companies are giving us a national Christmas present?
