EarthCries is on a distinguished road
Thumbs up The search for true enthusiasts has begun

Hello Reader!

EarthCries is a social & environmental online magazine and discussion board. Our goal is to voice the most current threat and developments in social & environmental fields in order to raise awareness and increase participation to help our planet. We attempt to strongly aid the academic community by introducing a cross university communication system and a way for professors to get their students involved.

We are currently on our last stage of development and plan to go live in June 2008. We are looking for social or environmental enthusiasts who would be interested in submitting short articles prior to the live date. Cross-referencing is also welcome.

In doing so your benefits will be:
1) Your work will be read by numerous enthusiasts and experts worldwide.
2) You will be listed on the website as a writer, earning first hand writer experience from it.
3) Being automatically enrolled into the $1000(USD) prize best article contest when it begins.
4) Having your name exposed to every professor of an English speaking university worldwide. A part of our advertising campaign is to individually contact every professor of the social and environmental faculties in English speaking universities.
5) Establish yourself as one of the first writers to start speaking out on behalf of the social and environmental issues as an enthusiast, a caring and involved individual as opposed to someone driven by money.

Article Guidelines:

We are looking for relatively short articles from 1-5pages long, based on the recent developments, threats or simply interesting topics in the fields of environmental and social sciences. The main requirement is that your article is original and does not violate copyrights and uses proper citations of outside sources. Your previously written course work or essays are most welcome. Please submit your articles via email: publishing@earthcries.com.

Yours truly,
EarthCries Team

You might want to at least post an intro thread mate. We don't know you from Adam so this comes across as spam

Hey it used to be that to spam you actually had to try and sell something
But no I’m not a spammer, my name is Slava, I’m a Masters of Management student in Canada and I’m putting together and environmental and social online magazine with some of my old uni friends as a hobby. So as I said we are trying to piece together a collection of valuable information, insights, tips and solutions that could be shared within the academic community as well as with an average enthusiast.
I was browsing through your forums and thought this site has a lot of dedicated tree huggers with good writing skills and a clear understanding of what we deal with today, hence my post.

Didn`t mean to appear as a spammer
Regards,
Slava

I hugged a tree once, I got splinters.

Anyway, not all people on here are tree huggers there are a few but most are concerened/curious about what is happening most have open minds about the environment.

Then there's forfismum.

My mate's carebear bag got invited to a bear wedding a few years ago. From what I heard it was a unique occasion.

So now we've established you have a sense of humour, welcome to the Forum!

It was a few years ago at Glastobury Festival. Some random bloke just told my mate that his bag (he had a carebears rucksack on) was invited to their bear's wedding. Told them the time and it was in the 'church' they have there. So they all went to it, as they had nothing better to do, out of curiosity.

Apparently all of the assistants were dressed in kinky nun's outfits. Both bears were held up by respective owners (presumably). The 'priest/vicar/ went through the ceremony and when it came to hte 'do you take this bear...' bit the person holding the bear pulled a string at the back of the bears neck and it said 'I love you'. The 'priest/vicar' person then did a whole television evangalist style speach about how the bear could talk and it was a miracle.

I wasn't invited either

P.S. I wont even consider hugging a tree unless I'm guaranteed permission to keep ALL of my clothes on
