Default 2 clicks to Protect our Whales

In my job, I come across some interesting social campaigns. Here is one that I think most of you might find worthwhile spending two or three of your hard-earned mouse-clicks on.

Absolut (yes the vodka people) are running a global campaign that’s ‘challenging the status quo’ by presenting thought provoking visions of life in “An Absolut World”.

They showcase five 'visions', and whichever is voted for the most, they will make come true mid-2008.

Don’t know about you guys but it took me about 30 seconds and I knew which vision was most important to me: To protect and nurture whales, even if it means protecting them from ourselves.

Believe it or not, this vision is the LEAST voted for so far.

If anyone wants to chip in their vote, let’s support these majestic creatures http://www.inanabsolutworld.com.au/.

Thanks guys....
Sammy G....

PS: You can also vote to Save the Great Barrier Reef!

Save the whales?!?!? Did we go back to the 70s here? We're not really whaling anymore...they're "saved" if you hippies wish to call it that.

Saved? Have you heard of a small country called Japan? Ask them!

The population is rising of the once "endangered" whales because of the decrease in whaling. You can't expect whaling to stop completely, especially for poorer countries, and if you do, then you need to get out of la la happy fairy tale land.

Poor countries like Iceland and Norway and Canada?

Please!

You know what.... give me a list of poor countries (lets say those whose GDP per capita is under $5000) and lets count how many whales they hunt every year....
