What you've said is rubbish, mainly because if you want to just multiply our population 10 times we would be like America or if the resources were low, yes we couldn't suport ourselves. But by what you've said if we just automatically increased America's population to 2.5 billion, obviously there are going to be problems.

But by technology, America wouldn't have the military might it has without us "developing nations". Don't you know the military technology has expanded beyond America's affordability so chosen nations around the world also purchase goods from companies who build it just to support the research and development budget. Australia is one such nation. So America has to give up it's total independance of having the best military technology just to support their superiority over nations it feels threatened by. So by your definition, America is now a developing nation. The fact America is a net importer of goods services and energy, a sudden embargo from the world on America could turn it back into the dark ages before you blink.

For many reasons I think the United States is substantively an underdeveloped country. I never claimed any of this was simple but to claim what I have said is complete rubbish is to give absolutely no respect to the work many have done for the better part of the 19th century in development theory.

I grossly simplified what scholars such as André Gunder Frank, Andrés Velasco, Fernando Cardoso, Immanuel Wallerstein and even Karl Marx, Adam Smith and Lenin by extension. Write a cited and empirically evidenced work and have it wrung through the minds of 100s of academics, who spend decades picking away at political economic and international relations theory and then come back to me at tell me what I have said is RUBBISH (with two B's).

Rubbish does not develop into a long tradition of distinguished scholarly work. Choose your words much more carefully.
