Well, I'm in the same zone basically. And, if I happen to wake up at that hour and cannot get to sleep readily. I may actually go out and look up to see if it's clear or not. Such events are fairly frequent and far more boring than meteor showers - which is at least some trade off for the prospect of them screwing up important time exposures.

The eccentric Moon
The Moon circles the Earth, but its orbit is along the same
orbital path of Earth around the Sun. The Moon stays in the symbiotic dance with the Earth but true to its orbit with the stars and not along Earth’s equator. It moves 5 degrees above and below Earth’s orbital path during its own orbiting system. The geodetic position of the Moon force system moves forward along the Earth’s orbital path making a complete circuit every 18.6 years. The positions of the apogee and perigee change, as well, making a complete circuit every 9 months.
Since the Earth is tilted at 23 5 degree to its orbital path, the Moon appears to rock back and forth like a coin on a table top from latitude 23.5S to latitude 23.5N as it moves around the Earth. This feature causes the force being applied by the Moon to be constantly changing as the pair of planets move through space. The Moon is like a promiscuous female moving from one encounter to the next, all good and some better
than others.
The menstruation cycle of the human female is 28 days, give or take a day or two, and the gestation period is 9 months. This rhythm is closely matched with certain aspects of the Moon’s relationship to Earth. With the perigee of the moon falling on 9 month intervals it returns to December 21st every 3 years. During this time the Moon moves from last quarter to new Moon rocking the Earth upward with more force than the spring solstice in the other direction and even greater force every 24 years with the Moon’s encounter with Venus. This action and reaction tilts the Earth upward and the Moon forward and Venus’s retrograde rotation.
The Moon rhythm in its earthly orbit is difficult to predict
because it is affected by all the other solar bodies. For example, the number of days from the Moon perigee of August 4, 2007 to the perigee of August 31 was just over 27 days. The preceding interval from perigee to perigee was 25 days. Each period brought with it a tightening of the Earth’s crust and then a relaxing of the crust. This also became the timing of strain releases in the crust.
From August 24th larger magnitudes of earthquakes began to appear around the world. History of the solar configuration of early earthquakes in California showed a similar configuration in the current earthquakes. In this case, the geodetic position of the Moon rhythm was operating over California. The release of stain in the Earth’s crust occurs along already established fault lines similar to the San Andreas fault line running through California. The fault through California is along the Pacific plate rotating counterclockwise as does the Moon. During stress building periods of the solar system, strain is built up along fault lines and then released during stress releasing periods.

Progression of Earthquakes in California associated with Eclipse of Moon between 2-4AM PST August 28, 2007 began on the 24th.
At the time of the eclipse the Moon force was close to maximum and would reach maximum on the 31st at perigee. The significance of the Eclipse was the position of the Moon on the elliptical orbit and the approaching perigee. The whole force system was in a force releasing mode and the low Jupiter force guaranteed strain to be release all along the front of the Moon cone of force. The 28th zenith of the Moon 18.6 years rhythm was 9N 159W. The Moon, moving counter clockwise and 2.6 days to perigee, would place the Zenith of the Moon 12N 124W well within the Moon cone system of force.
The Moon angle had intersected the Jupiter resultant angle on the 22nd with the Jupiter force system decreasing, now 10% of maximum.
The Moon angle would intersect the Planet resultant angle, also decreasing, on the 29th. The planet resultant angle was controlled by both Venus, a close 30.3 million miles, and Uranus to be intersected by the Moon in the early morning of the 31st. Venus was moving away slowly, offsetting the encounter with the Moon
Generally the larger releases occur after the largest sudden release of force. It can extend to the last quarter position of the Moon where the present Moon releasing system ends and building begins.
A number of earthquakes greater than 3.0 began to appear on the 24th, covering an area of 700 miles north and south and 600 miles east and west. Larger magnitudes of events over M5 also began to appear in number around the world increasing to 6 in number on the 30th and then diminishing in number thereafter.

you'll be amused to realize that ghgs cause an increase in emissivity (as in stefan's law) when they increase in absorption. What that means is while they absorb more, they emit more, even at the same temperature and that the temperature for the atmosphere doesn't have to increase to accomodate more energy being absorbed since that permits it to emit more of the energy that is absorbed.
Changes in albedo, cloud cover, incoming solar radiation can change how much is absorbed in the earth&atmosphere and these don't affect the atmospheric emissivity so variations in these must be balanced by changes in temperatures (actually T^4 )which means relatively little temperature change is needed to accomodate the changes. As for ghgs it looks like it's almost a total wash as increasing the absorption essentially means increasing the emissions by the same percent for a given temperature - which basically negates the need for a temperature change to reach a balance.

Not quite.. you need to look at direction and the fact that molecules act as capacitors (stefan and boltzmanns law relys upon it) and if you see deeply enough, you may even see how our planet has in time delay 1.4C increase even though it's risen 0.7 already. I've been thunkin can't u tell.

Windguy and Cbaca, again you are going off topic completely with something you are discussing in detail in other threads. I am going to ask you once again to respect Ward's thread as it is the only thing he posts on this site and doesn't intrude on any of yours, crazy as some of yours may seem to be. I am sure that there is merit in what you are talking about but if you can't respect what Ward is doing just don't read the thread.

The last large earthquakes in California for the period ending 5 hours after last quarter (2AM of the 4th). This force is opposite the force created by the Sun’s drag extending beyond first quarter then increasing as the Moon longitude offsets the approach of the resultant angle of the Jupiter system of force on the 6th. Soon as it passes that encounter the stress will tighten up again as it passes Venus (8th), Saturn (9th) and New Moon (11th). These encounters, the force of the Sun and the movement of the Moon and Earth toward the Sun will offset any releasing phase of the Moon as it approaches apogee on the 15th.
What this evidence shows is that the Moon is very active within the present releasing forces of both the Planet system of force and Jupiter system of force. The whole strain releasing system will jump north and south all along the San Andreas Fault system as shown by the coast of South America, Chile, Peru, Gulf of California and Lake Elsinore.
As long as the releasing system continues for both the planet system of force to 1/05/2008 and the Jupiter system of force to 2/09/2011, the Moon will cause similar reaction each month around the world. Numbers and magnitudes of earthquakes will increase in California across the state as resistance of movement of stored energy reaches breaking points.

Earthquakes associated with the Moon and Saturn and Venus
Large earthquakes of M5+ decreased around the world with 2 on the 9th and 3 on the 10th. One on the 10th M6.8 occurred of the coast of Columbia.
The Moon passes Saturn about 2PM(14) on the 9th of September.
