You might also fiond this interesting, due to the repetitive distractions on the news:

Looks like an interesting solar day

Just a little addition, and something that shows the lie that is unfolding, when I was up at 7.30am I switched on the TV and was watching the news, they said 20 planes were involved and 20 people had been arrested, that has now changed and it is either 10 or 3 planes involved and only 18 people have been arrested.

Edit: Sky news claims 6 planes, if the police are releasing the same information to all news channels this would be a consistent figure.
We are also being reminded about 9/11 repeatedly this is a joke.

Edit2: even more of a joke:

and what will happen tomorrow? lol

This thread has turned into a paranoid people's paradise, hasn't it?

- - -

I'm wearing a green hat. I wear it because I'm half-jokingly worried about the sky that is about to come crashing down on us. When I walk the streets or take a stroll in the jungle, the hat's wide brim prevents me from seeing to sky. I think it's cool. Makes me look a little bit like Robin Hood, too. - Well, that's what some of these British people who work, live and occasionally drink Danish lager here in West Norway keep telling me.

Hey August,

I don't think so. There is a difference between justifiable concern and paranoia.

Here is a professors analysis of the Maya studies:

The Astronomical Insignificance of Maya Date

I still think it is a stretch to call all of this a coincidence.

Greenland's ice cap is melting at a frighteningly fast rate

Quote:
But, according to Chen and his Texas team, the melting of Greenland's ice cap is already raising global sea levels by six-tenths of a millimeter each year, and the Colorado group estimates that melting of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet alone is adding up to four-tenths of a millimeter of fresh water to sea levels each year. In other words, the global sea level, due to melting of the ice in Greenland and Antarctica combined, is already rising 10 times faster than the IPPC's tentative estimates, the two analyses indicate.

Greenland’s ice loss accelerating rapidly, gravity-measuring satellites reveal

Quote:
Within the subpolar zone that includes Greenland, the rapid rise in meltwater along its eastern coast could add to other warming-related factors believed to be weakening the counterclockwise flow of the North Atlantic Current. For instance, the increased meltwater could change how more buoyant fresh water mixes with salt water in a branch of this flow called the Norwegian Current. This change could lower the temperatures of water, and thus wind, that travels past the west coast of Ireland and Great Britain.

That ocean temperature change would occur because the current might not move northward past Norway before returning to more southerly latitudes. Warmer, southerly waters would be stalled from moving northward if that happened, resulting in chillier winters in parts of Western Europe.
