We had some really great threads last year, with the following four nominated for the Thread of the Year award in this January's Environment Site Awards ceremony.
Carbon dioxide cannot be bad for the climate. On the contrary, it is food for plants, and so is beneficial to life on Earth. Bearing out this point was the Green Revolution—the phenomenal global increase in farm yields in the mid-20th century. Numerous experiments also prove a direct proportion between harvest and carbon dioxide concentration in the air.
Flawed logic here, the Green Revolution was caused by the development of the internal combustion engine (which releases CO2). The increase in CO2 was a result of the Green Revolution, not the cause.

speaking of flawed logic, the green revolution was aided by the application of an energy source - the internal combustion engine which reduced the manpower and horse 'power' required and permitted more to be done to the agricultural product but that wasn't the green revolution and - except for added co2 in the air, wasn't exactly necessary for there to be a green revolution.

for the most part, it hasn't been that cold. the bad news is that there are now predictions of a solar minimum cycle coming soon. Just what we need - another LIA.

Yes, that is what I have been saying for some time. Let's just hope it is 'Little'.
