The melting of these glaciers will indeed persist. The mention of a potential domino effect...with glacial-dam bursts prompting further carnage downstream, with more dams giving way, was quite alarming.

It seems as though enough chaos exists to justify alarm. This chaos however is muted by the mainstream media. Some claim the media is creating panic with their spin but I contend that they do not. A failsafe to prevent outright panic does exist.

This transition is slow in a human sense...unfolding in subtle waves of change which appear to be leading up to some sort of grand finale. Each year we are reminded of our new climate regime...chaos. It has become a norm. While this chaos involves swings into cold and warmth alike, the undertone is a progressive shift in the fundamental mechanics of the system we had grown fond of.

Round and round and round Earth goes...what happens is the next five years nobody knows.

Granted in the past levels appear to have varied dramatically and are now hundreds of feet less than what they have been, but what is the average rise that has occurred with a 0.6 degree increase - or for that matter, the 0.2 or 0.3 degree rise that occur a hundred years back?

There are those that stand firm behind the belief that sea-level is actually decreasing. Don't buy into this rhetoric quite yet. We are currently heating and whether or not this results in isolated or widespread cold is irrelevant. The distribution of energy is what we should be focussed on. The 'tipping points' we so readily attribute to heating should be defined as transitions to states of chaos that most often than not result in dry, cold conditions. Our threat lies beyond the borders of mankind.

The question remains whether or not we are embroiled in some sort of freak (by our time-line) occurance. Let's be real...nobody really knows, and with the attribute of critical thinking being systematically erased from our society, the prospects of widespread scrutiny is diminished. We are more united than we allow ourselves to accept. This truth must be explored and rediscovered. We are very close to a tipping point which influence, money or smokescreens will be incapable of masking.

Life as we know it is changing. It is not about to change. Our small world is on the verge of becoming big again.
