Even if that party doesn't look like it's going to get a look in? Let's suppose your a staunch lib dem or green or whatever... but it's going to be the Tories or Labour that get power. Let's also suppose you really disagreed with some of Labour's policies and really didn't want them to get power, by hook or by crook... how do you vote? Do you vote Tory to try and stop Labour getting in, or do you just making a nothing for a party that isn't going to make it? It's a tricky one for many people, don't you think?

Yeah, but that's different... my football team IS going to make it to the top of the Premiership... (yeah, right ).

Then the following two sites have some info that you might like to read:

Tactical-Voting.co.uk

TacticalVoter.net

They've not been updated recently, but are sure to get going again as the next General Election approaches!

Close to election day it is well worth finding out whether a tactical vote would be useful in your constituency, but before then the situation is far more fluid.

Between now and whenever Tony has the guts to put his job on the line a lot can and will change. Don't write anyone off this far away from polling day.

Doesn't this sum up what's wrong with a two party system? It's gone wrong time after time in the US and it's getting worse and worse in the UK. Just watched PMQ's and it gets more like playground squabbling every week.

Pathetic.

We don't have a two party system, it's just that the Reds and blues behave as though we do and most people accept this to be the case.

The oppositional set-up of the House of Commons is inherently bad, but I don't see anyone rebuilding the Westminster parliment to make it a more inclusive design.

Though we may all complain about the quantity of Directives handed down by the EU parliment, their auditorium style debating chamber means there is far less jeering from the other side when someone is speaking at the front.

It's not just the design of Parliament, it's the way these people act. Instead of working together to build the best solution they can, they both have their entrenched position and views on a subject and then attack the opposing view.

This happens on any public debate involving politicians. They have their view and seek to defend that view from public scrutiny rather than the other way around. They need to remember that they serve us rather than us serving them!
