What's the point in offering an opinion without knowing "the numbers". As "the numbers" are very involved and complex, a close study of the quantities involved is important. Almost all the talk on this forum about denying the problem, or exaggerating the effects of change are the result of not knowing "the numbers'.

One certainty is millions would be condemned to prenmature death and suffering in the third world as we handicap thier development with utterly pointless CO 2 legislation.
What makes that certain?

Which is why I put in that caveat. My feeling is that whatever the 'safe' level of CO2 in the atmosphere is, say 350ppm, the world response will be too little, too late to meet it. Real urgency to tackle the problem won't happen until people see climate change really taking hold, by which time it would be too late. If that happens then a big technological fix will be on the cards.

For the first time government funded scientists feel free to speak their mind on the climate without being sent to remote outposts

Some interests did rather overstate the effect of this didn't they?

I does seem to have stuck, mind.

That corrected global mean surface temperature graph again:

It's a good thing those corrections were made. Anyone would have thought that the globe was warming.

Nothing then?

Not one study you can point to?

Is this some new meaning of "certain"?
