I agree with that point Spadlet,it is a feature of forums that rude people drop in to the use the platform just like a roadside hoarding. But as we never get to find out just exactly what these folks are about then we must treat their stuff with suspicion and it effective becomes green spam.

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to apologize for posting our press release on this forum a few days ago. We didn't at all mean to "spam" your forum, though we do now agree that it was inappropriate.

We give full permission to Adi and any other administrators to remove this post if it would help the forum and its users.

A few of you have commented on the legitimacy of our websites and the trees we are planting. In actuality, we are not planting the trees ourselves. All trees are planted by TreesForTheFuture; an organization that has planted over 50 million trees to date. We just completed our first order today for 2,200 trees. TFTF will be posting some information about this on their website shortly.

Once again I apologize and ask for forgiveness to any and all users who were offended by my original post.

Best wishes and good luck with your efforts on improving our environment. We're all in this together.

Gerrid

I saw an interesting thing yesterday on promoting to communities. Racking my memory a bit but it had four stages:

1) Lurk, work out how things are done.
2) Respond to posts, share knowledge.
3) Start posts on topics of interest.
4) Discuss with the admin/owner any way that you can help them.

All about building trust and credibility, which takes time.

Sadly it seems few green businesses go to business school and instead skip straight to:

1) Join and post a promo with your first post, often never to return.

Hey Sparky,

That's a good post and certainly good advice for future green businesses trying to promote their brand in the forums.

Thanks and best of luck,

Gerrid

Yes I'm sticking around.

And from now on I'm adding value, not spamming
