Talking how does climate change affect extreme weather (floods, droughts, hurricanes)?

How does climate change (eg. global warming) affect extreme forms of weather (eg.floods, hurricanes and droughts)???

I urgently need help with this question as I am studying at school and am so confuzzled!

Any simple answers and information will be MUCH appreciated.

A simple question that sadly doesn't have a simple answer

The problem with using a open forum such as this, any fool can tell you anything and its up to you to separate the pearls out. Your probably better off looking at wikipedia

Any climate change is going to change weather patterns, As spot1234 has pointed out this is so complicated no one knows. It may not make the severe aspects of weather any worse but it might move them to different locations which would make things more serious in the new places.

Then again higher water levels and more heat might allow for more wind build up, more waves, more evaporation, worse storms......

Not sure if this is in time to help with your school project, but these articles may contain some straighforward information on recent research in those areas:

January 2008: (Increased Hurricane Activity Linked To Sea Surface Warming)
June 2007: (Is Global Warming Causing An Increase In Hurricane Activity?)

Problem with all of those forecasts is that last year they were so lamentably inaccurate. Will it be the same this year? only time will tell, but as the bar is being lowered to suit political ends ,who knows. What in the name of all thats good and holy is a "named storm".When I was sailing the briney oceans all storms had just one name " effing wind " as in "Is that effing wind still blowing,I need to check the anchor winch" or whatever. Now the slightest breeze has to be given a title.I recall one over the Northern Territories last year which would have gone almost unnoticed if it had not been spotted by a weather sat.
