President Obama‘s new economic stimulus bill has made allocation for relevant energy matters. Peoria, Georgia and Long Beach will be using Fed funds for their energy related projects. But, cities like San Francisco decided to use biodiesel which is more environmental friendly. What is more, they have begun to collect their very own biodiesel sources! Recycling oil and grease to produce biodiesel is a good idea. With such efforts, they will not be relying on Fed funds for their energy sources. Environmental effects of wind energy

Posted 7th-March-2009 at 04:32 PM by gina (President Obama 's energy bill)

    • What are the environmental effects of using wind energy? Well, wind power does not need any fuel for its operation! Just use the wind, natural source to generate wind power. What about emissions due to operation of wind power? Unlike some other sources, wind power operation does not pollute the environment with carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, mercury, or any other type of air pollution. It is environmental friendly!

Types of energy

Posted 7th-March-2009 at 04:14 PM by gina (President Obama 's energy bill)

There are many types of energy like kinetic, potential, gravitational, thermal and others. Energy can be transferred from one form to another. For a very simple example, a stationary ball on top of a table (potential energy) falls from the side of the table (gravitational and kinetic energy). In this case, the potential energy converted into kinetic and gravitational energy. But, in essence, the total energy of the system for the ball remained the same.

What is energy?

Posted 7th-March-2009 at 04:11 PM by gina (President Obama 's energy bill)

What is energy? According to Physics theory, energy is defined as the amount of work that can be carried out by a force. Energy is a physical scalar (meaning that direction is not accountable) quantity. The SI (international system) unit for energy is Joule (J). Petroleum is a source of energy. It refers to the crude oil derived from Mother Earth. Processing crude oil gives refined products like gasoline, heating oil, diesel fuel and many others. In our daily lives, there are many refined products...

President Obama 's new energy bill jobs!

Posted 7th-March-2009 at 04:08 PM by gina (President Obama 's energy bill)

President Obama‘s new economic stimulus bill has some allocation for “energy”. There would be electric, hybrid and biodiesel vehicles in Georgia, creating 550 jobs with a rough estimate spending of USD64 million. Would it be worthwhile? In the case of Peoria, Arizona, the plan is to improve its vehicles using natural gas or hydrogen. This project will cost roughly USD2.5 million and employ only 11 people. If you calculate the costs, the state of Georgia seems to have a better deal. What about...

What is solar energy?

Posted 7th-March-2009 at 04:06 PM by gina (President Obama 's energy bill)

What is solar energy? Solar energy refers to the heat and light that is derived from the Sun. It is considered to be renewable energy (it is free from the Sun!).Only a very, very small amount of the solar energy is used. So, this natural resource still has a lot of potential as replacement for other sources of energy which may cost much more money. Carrying out research on this source of energy would be a good idea!
