While some people make call me crazy, at the age of 51 (soon to be 52), one of my DREAMS is to be able to retire in a small solar efficient cottage that I designed.
And the reason for this? With today’s economy and being laid off since June 2008, BOTH unemployment benefits and savings gone, I know I have to have somewhere to lay my head at nights (lol).
I am presently staying with my daughter and have a male friend who I had stayed with in Phenix City, Alabama for 8 weeks before staying with my daughter (now 2 weeks) – and while I APPRECIATE their hospitality, I find that after being out on my own for 23 years, it is very hard to live with someone else. I have heard of adult couples who are able to maintain their relationship and still have their homes.
So with this said, I would now like to try working on some design ideas while I continue to job hunt and to find some “freelance” work. While I have to be “realistic” and remember that I have ZERO income coming in and ZERO savings, I can still start working on that project.
Any ideas on where to start? My garden (both flower and food) are important to me and I am missing them so much since having to give up my place. And I know that the water bill will be a BIG factor no matter whether there is a recession or not.
Have a GREAT day!

THIS IS ONE OF THE RESPONSES I RECEIVED. HAS ANYONE DEALT WITH THEM OR HEARD ANYTHING? THANKS!
We have a whole collection of plans that are meant to be built with solar water heaters with solar panels as a builder's option. See house plan 33000ZR and see all plans by this designer.
