2 days to the 'Hell'

Posted 30th-January-2009 at 12:02 PM by adi (My blog - the tales of a TES Admin)

Just two days now to the Hell of Ashdown ride on Sunday. Feel in decent enough shape although the weather forecast doesn't look too helpful. 2degrees maximum with a 25mph wind. Sounds like it could be a chilly one

A few updates

Posted 30th-January-2009 at 11:31 AM by adi (My blog - the tales of a TES Admin)

I've updated one or two things this morning.

Firstly the vbExperience hack has been updated to fix one or two things. You should be able to sell products back to TES now should you so wish.

I've also updated the blog. There isn't a huge number of whizzy features but some bugs have been fixed. You can see a full list of them on the vBulletin site if you want.

Trouble makers

Posted 30th-January-2009 at 10:40 AM by adi (My blog - the tales of a TES Admin)

We had a few trouble makers on the forum yesterday and it transpires that they are members of Burnerworld, a biking forum, who had setup a thread with the express intention of finding forums to cause mischief on and documenting the hilarious () results.

Some people are easily amused it would seem.

Tourism Eco-labels and the influence they have over us.

Posted 26th-January-2009 at 07:54 PM by aaliyah2009

Eco labels, do they fulfil their role in the tourism industry? Or are they a company's way of cutting back costs and creating new marketing campaigns? Can Eco-labels have influence over our decisions when choosing a destination?

As part of my dissertation, I am looking at Eco-labels within the tourism industry (hotels, attractions) and the influence they have over consumer behavior please feel free to leave your views, your feedback will be valued. Thanks.

The banned member from the population forum

Posted 18th-January-2009 at 07:24 PM by adi (My blog - the tales of a TES Admin)

Just a quick note to explain my decision to ban this member. We've had a few members down the year with, lets say, extreme views on population control. As a new member who was advocating measures such as automatic female sterilisation and 90% population reduction it seemed sensible to deny this person the chance to pollute the forum with such views.

They have since re-joined using new email accounts and may well do so again. I will be banning ip addresses should they try again,...
