May I just mention my own project here said he coyly
I was enlarging my carbon footprint withe petrol mower last week and uncovered lots of baby frogs, the decendants of those who colonised my ponds way back. They are all healthy and thriving and have spread downstream in the overflow from my spring. One thing that has prolly helped with this is that all the nearby fields are now being grazed and there is no tillage with its attendant spraying of chemicals, a reversal of the situation 10 years ago.I must also mention that I was accompanied by a low flying swallow who skimmed the ground all around me feeding on flies disturbed by the grass-cutting.Such are the simple pleasures of life
